Keeping you safe
How Your Away Days protects your Privacy and keeps your information Secure.
Your Away Days do not collect a great deal of information from you but what we do collect falls into one of two categories. The first is the data required to register to be able to use this site and the second is the banking details required if you are a seller.
Registration
Your Away Days only collect four pieces of your personal data when you register – Name, Email address, Home address & Telephone Number. We do not display any of the Registration information at any point of the buying or selling process other than what you choose to enter into the ‘First Name’ on the selling form. We advise you to type in your first name only. We do not allow any other business to use your information at any point – we don’t like it so we will not do it to you.
Banking Information
Your Away Days does NOT collect any banking details from you at all. We use a 3rd party banking company called Stripe and they collect and store your details. They are a worldwide online banking company for online businesses and take away the need for Your Away Days to store any banking details. Using Stripe also helps to keep our costs down and in turn the subscription cost.
That’s it. You are all safe! Buying & Selling tips below…

Buying & Selling Safety Tips
Below are a few tips to help you at the point of buying or selling your caravan or camper van. The first section applies to caravans and camper vans and provides common sense tips that both buyers and sellers should keep in mind. The second section is related to camper vans only as buying or selling one of these is more like buying or selling a car.
Generic Tips
*Buyer – If the price of the caravan or camper van is ‘too good to be true’, as they say, then it probably is. Take extra care when dealing with this seller.
*Buyer / Seller – Under no circumstances should you send money or ask for money before a viewing takes place.
*Seller – Only give out address details when you are comfortable with the person you are selling too.
*Seller – You are entitled to ask for the buyers address details and proof. A genuine buyer will not mind.
*Buyer / Seller – Try to have a 2nd person with you for any viewing.
*Buyer / Seller – All viewings should be at the sellers address or, in the case of static caravans, where it is sited.
*Buyer / Seller – Once a sale is agreed payments should only be by bank transfer, cheque or bankers draft. NEVER cash.
*Buyer / Seller – Always wait for payment to clear before asking or releasing the item.
Camper Vans
*Buyer / Seller – The relevant documentation should be available at a viewing – V5C / MOT certificate / Service history proof / etc.
*Buyer – Make sure that the documents match the vehicle and the sellers address.
*Seller – Do NOT let the buyer photograph your documents.
*Buyer / Seller – Always ensure that the correct insurance is in place for any test drive.
*Buyer / Seller – Any test drive should have both the Buyer and the Seller in the vehicle together.
*Buyer – It is worthwhile sourcing a History Check on the vehicle before you agree to buy.
*Buyer / Seller – Only release the documents once payment has been cleared.
